Program, Project and Acquisition Management Support
Program management is the process of managing several related projects in order to improve an organization’s performance. It involves coordinating and prioritizing resources across projects, managing links between the projects, and assessing the overall costs and risks of the program. Program managers oversee the purpose and status of all projects in a program in order to support project-level activity and ensure that the overall program goals are achieved.
Project management is the discipline of planning, organizing, securing, and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives. The primary challenge of project management is to achieve all of the project goals and objectives while honoring the preconceived project constraints—typically scope, time, and budget.
Acquisition is a complex process defined by a series of phases in which technology is defined and matured into viable concept, developed, and readied for production, and then the systems produced are supported in the field.
Both program and acquisition management support are complex processes and may require expert assistance to support. IEA has a superior track record in providing program and project management to multiple Federal agencies. We support this function through proven management tools and processes (including Project Management Body of Knowledge® (PMBOK®)), supplying Project Management Professional® (PMP®)-certified personnel, and utilizing methodologies that reduce cost and risk while improving performance. IEA’s acquisition specialists possess relevant and copious experience providing sourcing programs designed to ensure the customer receives only products and services that achieve acquisition goals that meet overall program needs.
IEA provides program management support to the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Exhibit 300 Development Support Program. We currently provide portfolio management and capital planning and investment control (CPIC) support at the VA’s Office of Enterprise Operations and Field Development (EOFD). In this effort, we support select, control, and evaluate phase activities to ensure that Information Technology (IT) investments align with the agency’s mission, support business needs, and comply with Federal mandates, policies, and regulations while minimizing risks and maximizing returns throughout the investment’s lifecycle.
IEA also provides program management services to the U.S. Army in support of the TRADOC Capability Manager (TCM) Airborne Sensors (AS)/Airborne/Aerial Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (AISR) Program. The objective of this program is to develop, define, document, and defend critical manned and unmanned AISR systems and their sensors/payloads systems requirements.
IEA’s experience supporting the U.S. Army Intelligence Center also demonstrates our significant capabilities in acquisition management support. IEA was awarded the Featured SDVO Small Business Award by the U.S. Army in August 2008 for outstanding PM support on a mission critical intelligence system.
IEA holds membership in the Project Management Institute (PMI) and the National Contract Management Association (NCMA), and we participate in multiple social networks and discussion groups associated with program, project, and acquisition management.
